Instructions
- Prepare index cards by writing the name of an occupation on each of two cards.
- Make sure there are enough index cards for each participant to have one.
- Distribute a card to each participant, face-down.
- Instruct participants to peek at their cards, and then put them back face-down.
- Say, "Today you will all have a job to do. Remember what job was written on your card, but don't tell anyone what that job is."
- Ask, "Does anyone need help understanding what job is written on their card?"
- If someone needs help understanding their role, look at their card and whisper an explanation so others can not hear.
- Say, "Someone else in this group shares the same job as you. Act out your new job silently so that others can try to guess what your job is. At the same time, look for someone else in our group who you think has the same job as you do, and sit down together.
- Ask, "Does anyone have any questions before we begin?"
- Exclaim, "Ready? Go!"
- Once everyone is seated quietly with their partner, have pairs take turns revealing their secret jobs.
- If any pairs reveal different jobs from each other, ask them what similarities their jobs have with each other.
- Congratulate everyone for their cooperation and creativity while playing this game.
